Spoke length is dependant on the

rim, hub and lacing pattern used.

The usage, colour and price point

drives the spoke decision.

All parts collated ready

for the wheel build.

At the start of the build hub

and rim logos are aligned.

Spokes are added and nipples hand

threaded to start the assembly.

Spokes are added first on the drive

side and then non drive side.

The order is important to ensure ease

of adding spokes to the wheel.

All the spokes and nipples are added to hold

the assembly together ready for tensioning.

Loctite 222 is applied to reduce the chance of spokes loosening during

service prior to tensioning. Oil is applied to eyelets ease tensioning.

To speed production the nipples are lightly tightened

with an electric driver to an equal amount of thread.

A Park Tools truing stand is used to do a preliminary

alignment, prior to precision truing and tensioning.

The wheel is moved to the P&K Lie truing

stand for the final build process.

The wheel is now trued to close tolerance

prior to final tensioning.

Tension is systematically added a quarter

of a turn at a time to each nipple whilst

continuously checking alignment.

Each spoke is individually checked for

tension and bought to within tolerance

and then final alignment takes place.

The P&K Lie stand enables centering of the rim during tensioning and alignment.

To double check the Park Tool dishing tool is used. The wheel is then complete.
